Di conseguenza qualche anno dopo, gli amici francesi hanno chiamato l’area sciistica, che parte da Des Alpes ed arriva in Vialattea , la “Gran Galaxie”.

Sestriere rappresenta sicuramente una tappa tradizionale del Circo Bianco, risale infatti al lontano 1967 la prima competizione del circuito di Coppa del Mondo lungo queste pendici. Una tradizione che si protrae da oltre 40 anni, con 33 edizioni, per un totale di 56 gare, senza contare the organization of the World Cup Finals, World Championships and Olympics.
